Apollotec, a Portuguese company specialising in web development and cloud services, has once again participated in the development of the digital platform for the Cheque-Livro Programme, now in its second edition, reinforcing its commitment to promoting reading among young people in Portugal.
The Book Voucher Programme, an initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries (DGLAB) and partners, aims to encourage reading habits among young people living in the country by awarding a book voucher that can be used in participating bookshops. In this new edition, which came into force in January 2026, the amount allocated per beneficiary has been increased to €30 and is available to young people born in 2007 and 2008, and can be used until June 2026.
With this new phase of the programme, Apollotec has developed and adapted the digital platform once again, enabling the issuance and management of book vouchers in a simple, secure and accessible manner, ensuring an efficient experience for young people and participating bookshops. The company highlights the importance of technology as a facilitator of access to culture and an incentive to read from a young age, reinforcing the platform's role as an essential tool in the implementation of the programme.
This collaboration continues to position Apollotec as a leading technology partner in projects with social and cultural impact in Portugal. For more information about the Cheque-Livro Programme and the digital platform, visit the official website. https://www.chequelivro.gov.pt/
