Apollotec, a company specialising in web development and cloud services, was responsible for the comprehensive development of the digital platform for the Cheque-Livro project (www.souleitor.pt). This initiative aims to promote reading among young people by encouraging them to buy books from local bookshops.
The Cheque-Livro Programme allows young Portuguese people to receive a voucher for the purchase of non-school books, bringing them closer to literature and strengthening the book sector. The platform, developed by Apollotec, facilitates access to the programme, ensuring a simple and efficient process for both young people and participating bookshops.
“This project represents the positive impact that technology can have on culture and education. We have created an agile, secure, and efficient platform to ensure that young people make the most of this opportunity,” says Ricardo Soares, CEO of Apollotec.
Participation in the programme has been positive, reflecting the initiative's impact on promoting reading. With an intuitive and accessible design, the platform allows young people to issue their digital book voucher and use it in an extensive network of bookshops across the country.
